We chose Mike and Ellie (Michael Robert Construction and Ellie Mroz Design) to build and design our home not only because of their impeccable taste and attention to every detail, but because they joined us on our homebuilding journey. Building a home from the ground up is both exciting and stressful all at the same time. Having an incredibly creative design/build team with us, to bounce ideas off, make decisions with, and answer all our questions was exactly what we were looking for. MRC X EMD build true custom homes that are unique to each of their clients, and push the status quo of home building. We began with discussions of what was important to us, and how we envisioned living in our home. We wanted to merge the original beauty of the home, built in 1937, with our needs for today’s modern living. Mike and Ellie brought us unique design ideas that made our vision a reality. They focus on elements and details only true design experts think about, including blending use of different materials, perspectives from every angle, layering trim, unique lighting opportunities, and tying everything together harmoniously. We ended with the perfect home, for our family, with distinctive and personal details throughout. We can’t thank Mike, Ellie and their entire team enough, for not only building our incredible home but for their expertise, professionalism, support, and always pushing design to the next level.

My wife and I worked with Michael Robert Construction (MRC) and Ellie Mroz Designs (EMD) to build and design our new home. When we began the process we had an inspiration and a few images of what we wanted our new home to look like and they took those ideas and enhanced them greatly into a concrete vision. We could not be happier with the end product from aesthetic, design and quality standpoint. From start to finish it was an open and transparent working relationship which greatly fostered a relationship of trust, which in my mind is so critical considering the amount of financial, time and emotional investment in this type of venture. The MRC X EMD team is extraordinarily creative...they did a fantastic job in guiding the process adding their creative touches to the layout, the finer details of the build, the use of natural lighting and space, the selection of all the fixture, appliances, amenities, furnishings, etc....this was all done in a very collaborative and easy way. They also have been very responsive throughout the entire build and post-completion with punch list items. Building a house can be very overwhelming and stressful in the best of times, we will always be appreciative of how Mike, Ellie and the rest of the team provided a steady hand during the pandemic which added an extra layer of stress during incredibly uncertain times. We are very proud of the home they built for us, it is our dream home and we will continue with EMD to furnish our home. A++++

We worked with MRC to create our dream home. Through teamwork, inspiration from the internet and our favorite places around the world, carefully choosing the right materials and making sure the layout of the home was exactly what we wanted they were able to successfully create everything we wanted and more. In addition MRC added beautiful details when it came to trim, wood work, lighting, archways and outdoor space.
