One of my favorite projects to date!  This kitchen renovation included a two foot cantilever  to create extra space in the kitchen and accommodate a center island.  The extra two feet made a huge difference and it turned out fabulously.   You wouldn't know it by looking at the photos, but there is a 1500 pound steel beam in the ceiling holding up the second floor.   We had to install the beam to open up the walls along the backside of the house to achieve the spacious, open feel of the new kitchen area.

Timeless and Elegant.  The only two words to describe this bathroom.  This was part of a second floor addition which added three bedrooms including a master suite, generous closet, and dual entrance bathroom.  The hardwood floors in the bathroom are great and give this wonderfully designed bathroom the perfect amount of warmth and grace.   If you look closely enough in the photo of the walk-in closet, you can see the HVAC equipment nicely tucked away in the corner.  This was a situation where we thought outside of the box to accommodate the equipment while taking up the least amount of space possible.

The “man shelter” of all “man shelters.”   The lower level on this project incorporated a high powered exhaust fan mounted in the ceiling that allows for indoor cigar smoking without the fear of lingering odors or angered spouses!  A supreme audio system was set up for a true theater-like experience, complete with 7.1 surround sound.  All components are hidden behind the wall for an ultra clean look.  And what would a real man shelter be with out a wet bar.  Without one, why even bother?

This design-build project has a styling all its own.  I like to call it Modern with a Colonial flair. The project included a master bedroom suite and master bathroom addition as well as a basement renovation.  The bathroom is fit for a king.

A restoration of The Reeve House, a historical home in Westfield, NJ.  This project was done with the help of the Westfield Historical Society.  I am proud to be a member of the construction team that is restoring this home, which was originally constructed in 1885.  The home is being renovated from top to bottom.  The Historical Society paid special attention to ensure that each architectural detail was lovingly restored to its full glory, yet no luxury was spared when it came to incorporating modern technology.

A Nice Tudor Facelift

This Westfield home will gain a ton of curb appeal from a front of the house facelift. A front porch and enhanced entrance on the outside will give way to a beautiful new bathroom and increased living space on the inside. Construction has just begun! Check back often for updates.

Design-Build Basement, Not For The Kids

Many clients decide to finish their basement to accommodate their young children’s needs.  This client chose to finish their basement for the adults to play in!  With the children grown, they decided to make the basement a place for themselves. With a custom wall design recessed for a flat screen TV, a whisper-quiet cigar ventilation system, and a half bathroom, this new space serves as a great adult retreat.  A resolved water issue and superior insulation make it a great move for the home’s comfort and safety factor as well.

This home hadn’t been touched in nearly 60 years. MRC will breathe new life into the character-filled existing structure, while adding 1,300 SF of beautiful, updated, energy efficient space. The house was completely gutted and prepped for a two-level rear addition. The first floor of the addition will house a state-of-the-art cook’s kitchen, Great Room, au pair suite, mudroom, and powder room. The second floor addition will make room for a master bedroom suite, second floor laundry room, three additional bedrooms, and two additional baths. This is a project you must see to believe.

Top Floor, Top Fun

What was previously an underutilized storage space in this already beautiful home, is now a multipurpose space for children, adults, and guests of all ages. The existing angled roofline required some creative thinking on MRC’s behalf in order to uncover the ample space for an entertainment area and full bath that this family desired. Mission accomplished!

History in the Making

This home must remain true to its roots, as mandated by its faithful owners and beautiful location in a prestigious historic section of Westfield. MRC will maintain the home’s architectural integrity, while creating new living space in this home’s third floor. A new bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom will blend seamlessly with the existing home’s style and quality, while new, energy-conscious features such as spray foam will increase the level of comfort throughout the home, and reduce the size (and therefore the bills) for the heating and cooling equipment.

Kitchen Addition

A rear addition on this home will make room for the spacious kitchen these clients were craving.  The new kitchen, complete with center island, eating area, and desk area will serve as the hub of this home, reflecting the way this family lives.

Detailed Projects

A whole house remodel that includes a new mudroom, office, and bath on the first floor, and a large addition on the second floor to house a new master bedroom and bathroom suite, a new bedroom, and a hall bath. To round out this complete home makeover, MRC will construct a new, stately garage. This home will look refreshed and revived inside and out.

Growing Family, Growing House Add-A-Level

A classic Cape Cod redesigned into a Center Hall Colonial.  This young family is growing, and needed a house that would grow with them. MRC took the roof off and pretty much added an entire new level of living.  The two-phase project will finish with added dormers for a pleasing aesthetic, and unique character.

Customized Ikea Kitchen and an Inviting Entryway with a Pop of Color

This client chose to use Ikea kitchen cabinets in their renovation. The result was as beautiful as it was cost effective. Added floor to ceiling cubbies create a mudroom where there was previously just a hallway, and a new powder room in line with the home's original style complete the renovation.

Bringing the Outdoors In

This project consisted of a kitchen addition, and a new mahogany screened porch for the utmost in indoor/outdoor living. The new kitchen, finished with custom cabinets, soapstone counters, an island, and a coffee bar, is drenched in sunlight thanks to a wall of oversized windows. The end result feels something like a luxurious green house. The screened porch has beautiful custom mahogany screens and flooring, allowing the homeowners to enjoy indoor/outdoor living for many seasons to come.

Custom Space Will Please the Audiophile, the Oenophile, and the Exercise Enthusiast

A 3,500 square foot lower level that rivals many main living areas we’ve seen. After enduring extensive water damage, we have given this basement a complete overhaul and taken extensive measures to prevent any future damage.  Back up sump jets were installed, which will work to rid the space of water in the event that the sump pump fails due to a power outage. This basement will feature a full gym with rubber, shock-absorbing flooring, a wine tasting room with custom mahogany built-ins, and a professionally installed and well-appointed theater room with room-sealing insulation for superior sound quality, and elevated stadium-style seating to ensure that every seat is the best seat in the house...More
